Mechanic (Full-Time)

NutriPea, specializing in value-added food processing, located in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, currently has an opening for a full-time Mechanic in our food plant. Competitive wages 10-15% above Industry standards for Manitoba.

Days or evening shifts available.

Position Description:

• Perform Preventive Maintenance on equipment according to PM schedule
• Aid in completion of Work Orders submitted to the Maintenance Department
• Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
• Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation
• Maintaining a clean workplace after work is complete
• Complete all paperwork as required
• Work with contractors as required
• Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, provincial and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications

Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities:

• Participate in Training as needed
• Follow GMP Practices

Skills Required (include education, experience and proficiency):

• Journeyman or 4th level Apprentice (Other Levels may be considered dependent on experience)
• Previous experience is considered an asset
• Complete company required Food Safety and Quality Training
• Participate in all required Health and Safety Training
